I don't know when I got my first pair of Oury grips. I'm thinking late `80s. I've tried other grips in the decades since but I keep coming back to Ourys for at least one of my bikes. They're inexpensive, comfortable, hold up well, and damp buzz and shock without making the bike feel distant and unresponsive. I like the shoulders on the ends so I always know where my hands are relative to the ends of the grips.
If you're used to thinner grips or if you have small hands, you may not like the Ourys as well as I do. If you favor locking grips and are concerned that the Ourys may slip (mine never have), check out our Non-Slip Grips page for an easy solution.
You make contact with your bike at only three points: saddle, pedals, and grips. Control and comfort depend on having the right products at each of those points. Oury grips are the right products.
